Following living soil practices and focusing on a balanced mineral profile that is dominant in Ca it allows the plant to uptake nutrients easily while also providing microbes with everything they need to thrive. Having a diverse thriving microbiome in and around the plant allows the plant to uptake endophytic microbes that are shown to directly trigger a more robust gene expression. Many endophytic microbes directly influence plant health which influence secondary plant metabolites, flavonoids, terpenes and other complex molecules that play a role in not only plant health but end users experience.
By focusing on microbes i approach nutrition a bit differently. I do nat add any raw N forms even in dry amendments. By using only soy proteins I am not only feeding the microbes but also giving the plant an N form that builds plant energy not deplete it like nitrates do. Aminos acids are also the base for flavonoids synthesis pathways. A win win. Everything I do is thinking of microbes, right down to the thick wood mulch to feed millipedes and the higher soil food web creatures.

My focus is on robust biology backed up by a balanced mineral nutrition. Using a balanced mineral top dresses, a thick mulch and brews that stimulate biology we hope to allow the cultivar to express itself to its full potential.
